US technology mogul Brooklyn Earick has dismissed submitting an official acquisition offer for Spurs. Tottenham had earlier “clearly turned down” an unofficial approach from a consortium headed by Earick last month and stated the team was not for sale. Yet the nation's corporate governance laws dictated that, having had an initial approach declined, Earick's consortium needed to make an offer by late October or declare they would refrain. Verification of the choice was made in a release issued by Tottenham to the stock exchange, stating the club is “not in an takeover phase.” Earick published an image of the announcement on digital channels, adding: “I've had a privilege discussing with Spurs and the Lewis family's representatives over the past few weeks. “I hold high regard for the club, its executives, and its followers, and hope for only the best.” Spurs' leadership expressed gratitude to the syndicate for its “positive engagement” in negotiations and for “honoring the clear position” of the owners that the club is unavailable. Brooklyn Earick is a former DJ who also worked in spacecraft research for Nasa before establishing his technology firm, which concentrates on innovation, entertainment, athletics and entertainment. His approach was the third expression of interest declined by the team's directors since the abrupt resignation of executive chairman Daniel Levy in the fall. On 8 September, the club declined offers from previous club stakeholder the financier's the investment firm and a group led by Roger Kennedy and Wing-Fai Ng through the holding company. The former chairman and his household hold about thirty percent of the parent company – which has an nearly 87 percent shareholding in Spurs. Levy was the the league's most enduring chair and is believed to have received more than £50m during his almost quarter of a century in the role. However he was also the focus of ongoing dissent by the club's followers, particularly last season as Premier League performances turned out unsatisfactory. The north London club claimed their first trophy in seventeen years when they defeated United in last season's continental decider. Related Topics The Premier League The North London club Football
